I still have a couple of hummers as of Oct 27, 2009. I have 7 feeders up all around the place so dont really know exactly how many. I saw a female. The cuphea is in full bloom and the cypress vine is still blooming and so is the cardinal vine. So there is plenty to sip on around here. I'm in Mississippi. So all you yankees dont worry about your hummers not having nothing to drink...LOL...I started throwing seeds of my cardinal vine out the window when I go places...this town is gonna be covered in cardinal vine.!

Had a hard frost last night, so it's time to clean up everything and get ready for a cold, hard winter. FROWN!

My hummers have gone south, so now were down to a cold winter and lots of ice and snow.I am so longing for spring already! I am enjoying some glad blooms that I got planted late. They are beautiful. Does anyone know if hummers gey nectar from glads?

Queen, you must have swarms of them, I have had only the one, but the sentry guard will come and take a bath while I am hand-watering, and he sometimes keeps me there just running the hose for him!!

wow! it's usually really hard to get the hummers out once they made it into the house! After hanging blankets on all the windows, I finally hung a feeder in the doorway and he came down ...drank... then flew out....phew!!!

So, so true Concrete Queen. I am the one where the hummer flew in through the front door, attracted by a red rose on the table, fluttered around, and left, all while I sat on the couch watching this little scene.
