Maggie,
We get fog in the Puget Sound Region also. I don't mind it unless I'm planning to fly somewhere. Then it can be a hassle because not all aircraft can operate in foggy conditions.

However, it is fun hearing the fog horns as cargo container ships move in and out of the Tacoma shipping lanes. We're about a mile from the water (no view, thus lower taxes) and at about 300 ft elevation.

I am so tired of the Willamette Valley fog that I am looking forward to the next several days of rain and warmer temps.

Diane, I don't "believe" we lost any plants during our cold spell and I still have plants sitting in pots from our move 15 months ago. I'm sorry that you lost plants.

Well last night we had a mix of snow/ice and rain so today we have a solid sheet of ice everywhere, it's supposed to get above freezing today, We can only hope. I am afraid to even look closely at the gardens, I think I lost a lot. The poor nurseries must have lost a lot of stock. It hasn't been this cold for this long in over 30 years.

Hope you didn't loosen up any of the seams on the canoe! But then that might be "The Rest Of The Story"!

I visited our property in Mossyrock and discovered the wind had overturned our aluminum canoe. It had 8+ inches of ice in it and I had to take a splitting maul to the ice to get most of it out (it was too heavy to tip back over). I need to get out there more often.

Also, a neighbor's fair-sized cedar tree trunk fell onto my property and damaged one of my prolific apple trees (broke off most of the major branches.

My wife and I also cleaned up a lot of wind-fallen branches and came home with aching muscles. I may need a couple of weeks to recuperate.

Harry, What a cool picture! Reminds me of the Morning Glory pool in Yellowstone.

Still frozen in Federal Way.

My backyard pond taken two days ago. Now it is pure white.

I always see the dead plants from freezes or otherwise as a chance to go shopping for new things to try! I'm sure I'm going to lose something so I'm making my list out now:)

Kathy, I live in a small town outside of Eugene,Or.We have been in the teens and lower for two weeks, very dry. Today it's up to 30* but right now we are getting a mix of snow/ice. I just want our normal weather to return.
